Cinéma Vérité, 2016
A formation of images, silent and moving: This cowboy movie in miniature was recorded at the modernist Pearl M. Mackey House (built by R.M. Schindler, 1939) in Mid-City Los Angeles during apartment performances that took place on a Sunday afternoon without the presence of an audience. The performed skits combined elements of everyday domestic life, improv theater and the “Wild West” resulting in undefined actions between agents and actors. They were later edited and transformed into a Western film plot. Cast: Villains of Yesteryear. Photography: Nadim Vardag. Directed by Jayne Sjodin and Kathi Hofer, edited by Kathi Hofer.
